They are here… They are in our bookstores, in our cinemas, they are on our screens… and they will soon be in our consoles! We are, of course, talking about Marvel superheroes, and here is a list of five games in development to watch closely.
After the world of comics, cinema and television, the time has come for Marvel to conquer the video game. If the adaptations of superhero adventures have already been present in this environment for several decades, it seems that they have been more than ever on the rise in recent years. Proof, the American company has recently announced many diverse and varied projectswhich promise MCU fans great hours of play with their favorite heroes. Focus on five of these future games to watch closely.
#1 Marvel’s Spider-Man 2
Given the success of Marvel’s Spider-Man on PS4, PS5 and PC lately, this sequel is undoubtedly already one of the most anticipated titles of 2023. However, we know very little about it, except that it will star Peter Parker and Miles Morales, whose first steps we followed in the stand-alone released in 2020, and that Venom will be the main antagonist. Developed by Insomniac Games, the game will be released exclusively on PS5.
#2 Marvel’s Wolverine
Particularly productive for several years, Insomniac Games is also at work on another title which this time will be dedicated to Wolverine, a character we haven’t had the opportunity to embody for a long time. Again, however, very little information has been revealed about this future game, which will adopt a much darker and more mature tone than that of Marvel’s Spider-Man. It won’t arrive until 2024 at the earliest, exclusively on PS5.
#3 Marvel’s Midnight Suns
Reported several times by Firaxis Games, Marvel’s Midnight Suns will finally find its way to our consoles at the end of this year 2022, on December 2 more precisely. And unlike all the other titles on this list, it will not be a narrative action-adventure game but aa turn-based tactical role-playing game allowing you to play as many superheroesincluding Doctor Strange, Scarlet Witch, Captain Marvel, Wolverine and more.
#4 Iron Man
We learned it just a few weeks ago: Iron Man will soon get its own single-player action-adventure game. Developed by EA Motive in collaboration with Marvel, it will be a third-person narrative experience telling an original story for the character of Tony Stark, whose complexity will be at the heart of the narrative. Still in pre-production, the game will aim to offer the public a “high-flying AAA experience”.
#5 The Skydance New Media Game
Developed by Amy Hennig’s studio (Uncharted), this future action-adventure game unveiled very recently will feature four characters, including Captain America and Black Panther. If little information has yet been revealed about it, we already know that it will take place during the time of the Second World War and that it will offer a deeply cinematic narrative experience. No release date has yet been announced.
