this Apple TV+ film on slavery with Will Smith is revealed in a powerful first trailer!

While we thought the film Emancipation delayed to 2023, AppleTV+ has just lifted the veil on its release date and good news, it will be sooner than we thought! In fact, the platform streaming who acquired this film worn by Will Smith for the tidy sum of 130 million dollars will be on your screens for the holiday season, that is Friday, December 9, 2022.

A film based on a true story

On this occasion, Apple TV+ has released the first trailer for this thriller directed by Antoine Fuqa (Training Day, The Guilty, Equalizer) which promises to be poignant. The proof in pictures :

Inspired by the true story of Gordonan African-American slave who escaped from a Louisiana plantation in March 1863 and joined the Union Army, a northern army during the Civil War.

The official synopsis reads: “Emancipation” tells the triumphant story of Peter (Smith), a man who escaped from slavery, relying on his wits, unwavering faith and deep love for his family to escape the Bloodhunters -cold and unforgiving swamps of Louisiana in his quest for freedom.”

Who is in the cast?

The title role went to Will Smith. At his side, we will find Ben Foster, Charmaine Bingwa, Gilbert Owuor and Mustafa Shakir.

A two-step broadcast

The film will be released across the Atlantic on Friday December 2, 2022 and then Friday December 9, 2022 on Apple TV+.
