A story inspired by a real event

The platform of streaming has decided to lift the veil on The Watcher on the occasion of TUDUM, its event dedicated to fans. This series is once again inspired by a story that really existed, that of the infamous “Watcher” house located in New Jersey.

“Your house is my obsession”

When their dream house turns into a nightmare

The Watcher tells the story of Dean and Nora Brannock as they have just purchased their dream home in the idyllic suburb of Westfield, New Jersey. Unfortunately, after investing all of their savings in closing the deal, they soon realize that the neighborhood is less welcoming than it seemed. There’s a goofy old woman named Pearl and her brother Jasper, who sneak into the Brannock house and hide in their freight elevator. There’s Karen, the real estate agent and an old acquaintance of Nora, who makes them feel like they’re not really one of them, and nosy neighbors Mitch and Mo, who don’t seem to fully understand the property lines. Their chilly reception quickly turns to hell when disturbing letters from someone calling themselves “The Watcher” start arriving.

A five-star cast

The Watcher stars in lead roles Naomi Watts and Bobby Cannavale. Jennifer Coolidge, Mia Farrow, Margo Martindale, Terry Kinney, Joe Mantello, Richard Kind, Noma Dumezweni, Christopher McDonald, Michael Nouri, Isabel Gravitt, Henry Hunter Hall, Luke David Blumm round out the cast.

When will The Watcher be released?

The series will be available exclusively on Netflix from Thursday October 13, 2022 at 9 a.m. It is made up of seven episodes.
