An appointment in eight episodes
Each episode of Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities starts with a little intervention from del Toro himself. The latter indeed presents the theme of the episode and the director who is in charge of directing it. A brief monologue somewhat reminiscent of the famous Alfred Hitchcock and his subtle interventions in his series Alfred Hitchcock presents.
Eight episodes that also highlight an impressive castwith comedians like Rupert Grint, Ben Barnes, Andrew Lincoln and Tim Blake Nelson as headliners.
The first episodes of the show offer a macabre horror atmosphere and transmit often amazing fantastic stories, which play with the codes of del Toro’s cinema. Curiously, the first two chapters share a common theme: greed. Two first episodes which thus confront the protagonists (Tim Blake Nelson and David Hewlett) with their own avarice. Netflix is releasing two episodes a day starting Tuesday October 25 until Friday October 28, 2022.
