a series is in preparation for Disney+

After four films including a fifth in preparation, Disney thinks to continue the adventure of Indiana Jones. A series would be in preparation, but a priori without the actor Harrison Ford, who should definitely hang up after “Indiana Jones 5”.

Indiana Jones: an iconic character

Steeped in film and popular culture since 1981 with The Raiders of the Lost ArkIndiana Jones has since become a icon. The first four sections (The cursed temple, The Last Crusade and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull) made by Steven Spielbergshow a Harrison Ford young and virile, handsome and intelligent.

Adored by students and sought after by looters, Indiana Jones is the emblematic figure of the courageous man who braves all dangers. Bonus: neither glory nor money interests him, he is at the service of History and Knowledge.

Continue the adventure with a series

Indiana Jones managed to cross the ages. Since the 1980s which saw the first three films emerge, the saga was renewed in 2008 and will end in 2023 with a film by James Mangold. However, Disney has a habit of pursuing successful sagas at all costs. Like with Star Wars or cult movie sequels like Willow, Hocus Pocus or Once upon a time.

The development of Disney+ from 2019 has encouraged the growth of these extended universes. Thus, the same diegesis is exploited through several films and series (like the Marvel Cinematic Universe). Follower of crossmedia thanks to the possibility of carrying out prequels, sequels or spin-offs,

Disney would therefore, according to our colleagues from varietycontacted Lucasfilm, the origin of the franchise IndianaJones, to develop a series. Disney would still be looking for a screenwriter to take on the project, which therefore gives free rein to the imagination of fans. Some hope for example that it will be an animated series, nothing is specified on this subject.
